You may feel unsure or hesitant about asking for help. Taking the first step is an act of courage. However, many people find that engaging in therapy provides immense benefits, not least a deeper understanding of self and a greater satisfaction and contentment in life and relationships.
I offer two types of service depending on your needs and comfort level:
-
Anxiety
-
Cross-cultural
-
Life transitions
IN PERSON COUNSELLING
It typically consists of face-to-face meetings between the therapist and an individual or couple. Sessions are normally 50 minutes each and are usually scheduled once per week.
The first few sessions will be an assessment period where the focus will be on looking at the presenting issue(s) and situation(s) in the context of the individual’s relationship to themselves and with others.
Treatment will include explorations of ways to deal with the issues identified. This is done by healing them, looking at new coping skills and/or to provide a renewed focus for pursuing your life goals.
ONLINE COUNSELLING
This method of counselling involves communicating through video chat or Skype.
Convenience: When working online with a counsellor there is no need to travel to an office for appointments. You can talk to counsellor from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Anonymity: Some people find that video chat or Skype feels easier and more comfortable than working with a counsellor face to face.
Online counselling expands on this experience by allowing a client to be ‘heard’ by another and to receive information, encouragement, support and feedback as they discover what will help them to overcome challenges or to live a life that is healthier and happier.
